Why the name "vertical?"

Vertical: (adj) Situated at the highest point: directly overhead or in the zenith.

The term "vertical," (besides representing elevation, height, and upward direction), is the maximum jump possible from a flat-footed position. Many athletes are judged by their vertical jump ability, which can catapult them into the next level of achievement, helping them rise above their competition. Similarly, the lack of vertical ability can hold an athlete back from greatness.

The opposite of vertical jump is being “grounded,” which, sadly, seems to define many Christians. There are real connections, principles, and practices that can assist them in finding the heights spoken of in Isaiah 40:28-31:

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” What can you expect from God at Vertical Church? If you are ready for your life to take on a new and elevated dimension, you can find a spiritual lifting through the divine presence of God by connecting with this blessed community of believers. Vertical Church's purpose is to help each person find that vertical spiritual lifting and then together, we can horizontally serve the community and the world.

The Mile High City is known for its official elevation of 5,280 feet. At Vertical Church, we believe the ultimate heights of God's favor are for all who connect with His vision. Christ's disciples created an Apostolic precedent in the first church that we are working to attain. Vertical is a new church with ancient connections.

Come be our guest and experience this spiritual elevation for yourself. Simply put, Pentecost is about a Spirit-filled existence. Please accept this as your official invitation!
